Unlike the regular vacation, mountain hikes are exclusive to nature; from being so close to all forms of terrain and foliage you’re ensured to be part of an escape, that involves ultimate tranquility! Before heading out, preparing yourself is key to maintaining a smooth journey throughout. Following is a short guide to get you started on the nuances of packing up just right.

1) How is one to choose a suitable hiking pack?

It’s important to carry a hiking pack that is appropriate to how much you wish to carry, for the duration of your trip. Therefore, make sure that the following features are available even at a minimum:

  • An adjustable range of shoulder and hip harnesses;
  • Frames, either external or internal;
  • Water-resistant;
  • In-built hydration or a pocket for carrying a bottle of water at the least.

2) What essential items need to be included in a hiking pack?

While the answer to this question also relies on the total duration of your trip, it also pays subject to where exactly you’re planning on going; is it through a jungle that bears dense vegetation, or a snow-capped range of hills?
